Even as the lyrics are being spoken, your Harrier individual is already charging into battle. Toting a huge optical maser gun below his arm, the Space Harrier can either run on the checker board land or freely fly along the sky. Either way, he's ever heading forwards into the unfriendly 3D world. As you progress, hosts of unusual animals and automatons fly toward you. Fast reflexes are necessary to hedge their incoming fire. Environmental dangers can be a problem, too. Take care not to run into any trees or rock structures. If you need a bit of a esprit de corps boost, just get the better of a boss, and the storyteller will prompt you that "you're doing great!" to spur you on to the end.
