Wii-kly VC Update - Apr 2nd, 2007

Posted April 2nd, 2007 in News by Dasme

TMNT Baybee! Another Week another VC Monday! It’s strange, I can’t remember EVER looking forward to Mondays before, but the Nintendo Wii has sure changed that! After last week’s anemic release, Nintendo has come through and brought us 3 great games to help us while away the hours.

This week sees the release of Dragon’s Curse for the TG-16, Star Fox 64 for the N64 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the NES!

Personally I’m very excited about the prospects of plating Dragon’s Curse. I owned a Sega Master System way back in the day and Wonderboy in Monsterland was my absolute favorite game on that console. Dragon’s Curse is the sequel to that excellent title, and I am salivating at the prospect of finally playing it. TMNT is also a great if not damn impossible game for the NES. Should I pick up that one first or not.. hmm.. decisions decisions!

Enjoy your VC Monday guys, lets hope for another great release like this one next week!

WTF are you thinking Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1 for the NES is horible! Watch this youtube video of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjUz8IT0CYg

  2. MitchyD Says:

    Star Fox 64 and TMNT?

    God damn.

Got to go buy some more points today.

  3. ZMan Says:

Quick question. I thought all the NES games were 500 points, but it looks like you marked it as 600. Is that a typo, or is correct that Nintendo is charging more for this game?

  4. Dasme Says:

That is correct, this particular title is 100 points more. Hope this is a trend that doesn’t keep on going.

  5. J-Peso Says:

Weird to me that they would put one of their worst NES on the VC for 100 more points. TMNT 1 on the NES sucks…period.

  6. Kenny Says:

People hate TMNT 1 for the same reason that they hate Ninja Gaiden or any number of old NES games = high level of difficulty!

I do love that YouTube video. Nothing like watching that guy curse up a storm in frustration over sections of a game I beat when I was like friggin 8.

If you don’t like hard games then stock up on Animal Crossing and Nintendogs, have fun, and put it out of your mind.

Well said Kenny. I remember tmnt being a great game - maybe I’ll post a review of it if I actually end up getting it.
