As the number one game in the famous KING OF FIGHTERS series, THE KING OF FIGHTERS '94 brought together popular fictional characters from another well-known dealerships and pitted them against each other. Match individuals from Fatal Fury against favorites from its sister series, Art of Fighting. Or see if the cast of characters of the Ikari Warriors and Psycho Soldier series best suit your combating style. Plus, there's a set of trade name new characters, exclusive to the KOF series, who are consenting to join the fray. But there's a twist: Instead of the stock best-two- out-of-three-rounds battle setup, participants take one of 8 teams, each made up of 3 teammates. To win, all members of the other team must be eliminated earlier than your combatants are knocked out. Use the game's powerfulness gauge to bring down supreme harm and end the round with a destructive finishing move. It's a combat imperial unlike anything else-a game whose brainchild is easily seen in the combating games that postdate it.
